Seems Sony wants to be more thant just minidisc fieldrecorders. This is the specs from the press release.

The Sony PCM-D1 recorder is expected to be available in December at a suggested list price of $2000.
And it made in titanium looking like something from Mars Attacks!!

With all the mp3 players, it's good to see a portable that breaks the 44.1/16 barrier. I like the analog style digial meter on it. I wonder if there is a way to plug my Earthworks qtc omni pair on stands into it. I think I would get tired holding it in the air for a whole concert.
