ENG44 portable audio mixer opinions?

This thing any good? I like the fact it is half the price of a 302 but does the quality suck by comparison to the SD302? Bonus is 4 channels compared to 3.

Not to disparage the other device in any way, but I expect that you will be very pleased with the Sound Devices 302. This is a highly recommeneded field mixer.

I haven't used one of these, but I just heard from a fellow soundie who is using one on a shoot currently. The review is fair, but not great. The unit she is using exhibits a great deal of internal noise that really limits the amount of gain she can get out of the unit. In addition, some controls are located on the bottom of the mixer which makes it awkward to use when you are in a bag. On the plus side, it's really cheap.

The SD302 was a much better choice in my opinion.
