I was not sure if you mean the length of the entire set up of the mic or just the barrell.

Rode makes a shotgun mic and the barrell covered with the foam wind break is 6 inches. However the shock mount and the mic combined is more like 9 inches. the bulk of the weight of this mic is over the camera and would likly work well on the smaller cam. These mics cost about $149.00 u.s. and are surprisingly good.
I used one on my gl2 and it gives good audio, and you can also cut out the heavy base if you like. Here is the site at b&H.
