Behringer Xenyx
 
Does anyone have any experience with the Behringer Xenyx? I have heard that Behringer arnts that good of a brand, is this true? Is there new Xenyx series better than the old UB Series?

The people at Equipment Emporium speak highly of the Behringer Xenyx 1204, apparently it is their best selling entry-level mixer.

At that price I guess you can't go wrong. For less than most USB audio interfaces alone you also get a 12 input mixer with quiet pre-amps as well as downloadable recording software.

Behringer has sold nearly a million mixers worldwide, so I guess they have a leg-up in terms of R&D.

Alesis also sells a similar mixer, albeit with 8 inputs, the Multimix 8USB which comes with Cubase at a comparable price

USB mixers make a lot of sense for video editing application as they leave your firewire free for video/storage.
