A1 and Letus FE first test!

So I got my Letus about a month or so ago, but I haven't been able to really understand and use it until last night where I read Steven's article on DVX user. I was pleasantly surprised with the result!

For this I used a Canon 50mm FD lens on a Manfrotto 3221WN tripod with a Bogen 503 head.

(15 meg)

Its short, but I tried to get the look and feel of one of Steven's videos. Isn't imitation the sincerest form of flattery? :-P

That looks pretty good...

Did you adjust anything in post? It seems from the footage that the light loss is fairly minimal..? Why did you go with the Letus over the M2 or other competitors...?

What was the specs on the lens? Rods?

Note: I have been debating back and forth over the adapters... Steven's footage is VERY convincing...

Hi Doug! There was no adjustment in post, I just imported into Final Cut Pro 6, then added some music and fades, then exported. I was very impressed with the brightness of the footage since I know about the Letus' light loss.

I decided to go with the Letus35 Flip Enhanced for 2 reasons: the price was right, and Steven's footage looked breathtaking to me. Those facts alone let me to purchase the adapter.

As far as the specs were concerned, I bought a used Canon FD 50mm lens on eBay for about $20. the lens was made in 1986 (or so it says on the lens). I don't use any rod support system, although if I use a lens really larger then a 100mm, then I'd most likely get some sort of rod system.

Thanks for the kind words, and Steven...your footage alone has inspired me to want to do great things with my lens and camera. Thank you!
