Rods: a must 4 the letus?

Hi,

I have just bought a letus economy and I was wondering if rods are absolutely a must or if you can use it without it? My lenses are not heavy and I always used the brevis with no rod support, but the letus looks bigger and heavier than the brevis so I want to be sure.

Thanks,

Rafa

Already got my answer. Rod system order just placed.

Even if you get the rods, How are you going to mount the Economy to the rails?. It does not have the support like the Extreme. You can't just let it lie down on the rods. what about when adding a follow Focus unit or a mattebox. what are you going to to then?

There's a picture on the letus35 forum of the exact same setup. You CAN lie the economy on the rods. I won't be using a follow focus though.

what is the point then? how about using a matte box on that then. you not going to use one too. or you going to use those clip on matte box and when you turn the lens the matte box turn too. And maybe the filter will drop out when you turn it upside down.

The point is only to have support for the heavy weight. I love pulling focus manualy, so, at least for now there's no follow focus on the way. As for the mattebox I never had any trouble with the clip on.
