Which adapters for detachable lens camera?
 

Sorry if this has been answered previously, if it did, I couldn't find it...

Anyway:

If you have a JVC 110 with detachable lens, I know Letus is coming up with a relay add-on to their Extreme adapter to bypass the need of using the stock lens, and I know JVC themselves make an adapter for P-mount lenses (but does not affect DOF), but what about Redrock Micro, Brevis, or some other company?

What other options do I have?

The whole point of buying a detachable lens camera is to detach the lens and I really do not want to use it in conjunction with a DOF adapter.

Any help would be appreciated...

I think that Brevis is very near to achive what you need. Try to contact Denis to see where he is with his relay for 2/3 cameras. Maybe this will help you too.

Thanks, Igor, I'll keep an eye on the Brevis. Is it only for 2/3" or will it work with 1/3" cameras?

Does anyone know if there are announced adapters from Redrock Micro, SG-Pro, or anyone else that can work without the camera lens itself?

Correct, there will be a B4 adapter (mulit-format) designed to work with our current "flipped" Brevis rig. Porting to 1/3" and 1/2" Sony amounts is in the works right after introduction. We've got a few HPX500 users using this setup right now, but of course using a stock B4 lens as a relay.

Letus was suppose to be making a relay lens for the XL2 but that effort seems to have been shelved.

Determine the focal length needed to zoom into any ground glass with the camera's stock lens.

Then, find a stout SLR lens of a similar focal length. The SLR lens becomes the relay lens. The only issue is attaching it to the video camera and compensating for back focal length.

The only problem with this is that the lens wont be as fast as a custom made one.
