Flip vs non flip

always wanted to get a cine dof and now decided to go brevis,
i'm thinking to get non flipped system and small hd monitor, cuz shooting up side down is a pain; please correct me if i am wrong, but i think that with the flip module i'll get more light loss as opposed to shooting straight from the GG,
many thanks.

Hey Buba
While it's certainly true that the less glass you have between your ground glass and your taking lens the brighter the image, the modern prisms that most of the folks are using to unflip the images these days don't eat up much light at all. Letus claims 1/2 a stop through its entire system, for instance, whereas if you used the unflipped Letus you'd still lose, what, maybe 1/4 stop? So if 1/4 stop is worth the unflipping monitor, etc., then that's the way you should go. Or get a DOF adaptor that accepts its unflipping module as an attachment, and then unflip as required.

Thanks Chris,
totally agree, 1/4 of a stop, I probably won't even notice that,

Get a flip...trust me, you won't regret it. Shooting flipless is a massive pain in backside.
