Infra-red?

Made me wonder if anyone here has had any luck with modifying a regular camera for shooting IR (post an example!).

Would older tube cameras be good candidates for this (and just as I was going to put that old JVC on E-Bay! :-) )

I have a Fujifilm IS-1 digital still that is made for shooting IV and UV. It has a simple movie mode.

Interesting. I'd have expected the dog to be lighter. What color is it really? I don't suppose you took a regular pic at the time?

Would be nice to see human beings...


Presumably if you have an IR filter inside the camera and take it out you have to replace it with something else or you'll lose back focus on the lens.

The dog is black. There's no IR filter in the the camera. For IR shots I use a 87c on the front. Without the filter the images are normal color images with a slight pink cast. A uvir cut filter takes out the cast. I really use the camera mostly for still ir shots, I like the effect ir has on foliage.

You mean a dedicated camera? Yes, it's a military night vision camera currently in development. From what I've read it's just a box with a rudimentary lens and a bnc outputting DV. I'm surprised they let it out, but maybe that's a clever way of exploring it's capabilities by letting someone 'creative' have a go with it.
