No Problem, but my solution adds waaaay more than 2.5 inches to it ... not length, but girth. Your particular needs are not conducive to having a 35mm adaptor. You may need to reconsider either your need for shallow DoF, or your need for small gear. Can't necessarily have both (although if you can figure out how, please post the results).
