Arg! Finally some XL2/mini35 frame grabs

Well after fussing for a bit to get my mini35 to 'fuse' together (and stay that way) with the mini35, I've finally shot off some footage and have frame grabs to share!

The first set of stills come from a BMW spec. commercial I'm working on (footage currently in post), and the second set of stills are from a short film production titled "The 23rd Doorway" which I rented out my mini35 rig for and did camera and some DOP.

BMW Spec Commercial - www.starcentral.ca/mini35rig.htm

- 24P, 16:9, -3dB to 0dB, sharpness: default, cinegamma: on, cinematrix: off, skin detail: off
- Nikkor f1.2 to f2 25mm, 35mm, 55mm & 85mm lenses

The 23rd Doorway - www.starcentral.ca/23doorway.htm

- 24P, 16:9, 0dB to 3dB, sharpness: default, cinegamma: on, cinematrix: off, skin detail: off
- Indoor Zeiss T1.3 50mm prime
- Outdoor Nikkor f1.2 to f2 25mm, 55mm lenses

Questions, comments or spare change welcome.

Those are some great images, I really liked some of the shots
from Little Acorns. Neat. Thanks for sharing!

Rob - you're going to kill me... I kind of have 2 threads on this going. One here because it's the mini35 and another in the XL2 section.. sorry, but let me know what I should be doing if this is not okay.

BONUS: I just uploaded a rough edit snip of footage... www.starcentral.ca/images/bc/sample.wmv

I was just downloading that footage, thanks. It's okay for now,
but if you want I could post a link to the other thread and close
this one?

Do whatever you really think is best given the situation, I just think the discussions might be separate... maybe I just like to hog threads?

But seriously, which section is this more relavent to? The camera or the mini35? Hm... I have no idea. :)

Any idea how to make the footage play 16:9? For me it shows up as 4:3 squeezed. Should I have made it 864 x 480 instead of leaving it as 720 x 480? I thought the players would adjust for the 1.2 pixel ratio?

No, most players (including most versions of WMP) do NOT
account for the pixel aspect ratio. So it is better to export at
a 1.0 pixel aspect at the corrected resolution, that way you
are sure all players will play it correctly!
