Question about mounting 35mm adapters directly to a camera, like an EX3, JVC, etc.

Hey everyone,

I know you can put a Letus directly onto an interchangeable lens camera, like the JVCs, Sony EX3, etc., with a relay lens and not worry about using the stock lens. But can the Redrock Micro, Brevis or P+S Technik do that? If so, do they sell relay lenses, or whatever they might be called?

Thanks,

Heath

I know the Brevis(cinevate) and PS Technik has their own relay lens. I think the Cinevate can be use for other adapters as it is zoomable.

With the EX3 you don't need a relay lens. You can use a simple mount adapter and mount a 35mm still or motion picture lens directly to the camera in place of the stock zoom.

The EX3 is an interchangeable lens cam just like the JVC hdxx series, so yes you can replace it with35mm or still but it will be severely croped.

The OP wanted to know if it needs a relay IF he will do away with the stock lens, to work with 35mm adapters he mentioned, and YES it still needs a relay, otherwise he will have to use the stock lens.

Thanks, everyone. I also found out you need the stock lens to use Redrock Micro. What about Brevis35?

However, P+S Technik's Pro35 and Letus (with relay) you don't need the stock lens.

Thanks,

Heath

brevis developed their own relay, in fact i saw them make two kinds, its unique feature was that you can change its framing. I checked its site just now and didnt seem to see it in their product listing, a search showed it being talked about in its forum page.

You can email Dennis wood in his website and inquire about it.
