Home Depot adaptor results

Alright. It's still not perfect but it is progressing nicely. Made it from the guide I posted a week or so ago, pvc pipe and uv filters. Here are the results. I used microwax but it is still pretty grainy. Anyone have any ideas how to counter this? Also FYI, I am not using a close-up lens which is used in the guide I followed. I am getting one from bh on monday.

Bennis, what lens hood is that? I've been looking for one for a 50mm lens everywhere...

Bennis, have you read the microcrystalline thread or my site on how to make a microwax glass? http://members.chello.nl/a.schultzev...g/wax/wax2.htm If you got technical questions about wax, it's best to post them on the wax thread.

Ben, It's a Hama hood from B&H. It is actually a 52mm size clam on type, then lens itself is a 50mm and the filter size is 52mm.

Oscar, I saw that a while ago but I am confused about how to do it with round UV filters? Am I supposed to take the glass out of the filter ring first or leave it in? I like the idea I just don't know how to apply it.

The easiest way is to leave one bigger filter in the ring and take a smaller one out of the filter ring. That way you'll protect the wax from shocks and air coming in (resulting in cracking wax layer) and it makes it easy to put in in the adapter.
