Letus35 and Rod Support

I was wondering if Quyen or any Letus35 owners have made any rod support systems for the Letus. The adapter itself is pretty light, but with the added length and weight of the lens, I'm afraid it might eventually snap off. Right now I have to hold the SLR lens while I film, but it becomes a hassle when I have the camcorder on a tripod.

Quyen, can you make a support for the Letus that we can buy?

Quyen Le November 12th, 2005 12:00 PM

The rod support is not far from being done but I have very little time now. Because I have to fill the orders, I have to set aside rod support project along with many other projects. Will work on it when I find time, thanks.

Awesome, it's good to know that it's close to being done! How much do you expect to sell it for?

Quyen Le November 13th, 2005 11:10 AM

From $150 to $200, thanks.

At that price you might as well buy the Cavision rod support for $158 at B&H.

My rod support will have a device that fit the letus35 in, if you can find something that works, it will save me a lot of time and hassle, thanks.

Hey man, don't sweat it! I was just wondering if you were working on a rod support for the Letus cuz I know at least some people wouldn't mind having one.

Cool! I'll check that out, thanks!

Letus Rod Pictures

Could those who can, show some pictures of the Letus with the Rods... even if it's home made... thanks

Kin Kwan November 14th, 2005 07:39 PM

Yea, it'd be really nice if someone who's made one posts some pointers or pictures of their setup. Maybe Jimi could show us his setup? :D

I was able to find the RS-15IIM rods support from the Cavision website, but I'm not sure if that's the right one or if it will fit the Letus.

Any help would be appreciated!

This is what I ordered:

Search "cavision" on bhphotovideo.com

Thanks, Ben. Can you post a pic of your setup with it? I can't see how it would help support the lens since the plate mount is higher than the rods and there's nothing in front of it to support the lens.

The Cavision rod system is top notch for the money. I got mine for my XL2 for $139.95 at EVS in Glendale, CA. Get the universal adjustable bracket as well. Mine (the bracket) is in the mail as it was a special order aside from the rod system.

Someone else tried that support Salvador, they reported it works great.
