I think that Wafian is just a small factor PC with some dressing, isn't it? How would one go about building such a machine?

It would need HDSDI and/or component input, output for HD monitoring, input for battery power, or AC, low noise, and I think that Aspect HD would be sufficient. It handles 1440x1080 pixels at 8 bits.

What would be the component list and cost for such a machine?

Could you load Vegas software and use it for editing too?
