No Clue

But I'd be curious to know who's as well. I know I tried something similar using the EF adapter and 24mm lens and even with the lens that wide I still had to have the ground glass alot farther from the lens to get the framing right.

What's the advantage over just going straight from the M2 to the XL1?

Bill Porter January 22nd, 2006 01:36 PM

Yes I do. It's Patrick Pai's.

I simply searched for it. What a great guy. Modest, too.

Not really too much other than it brings the length of the unit down.

Less light loss as is proven with the mini35 on the xl vs. the DVX.

Yeah but Jim was asking about the difference between using a Micro 35 mounted to the stock XL lens versus an XL using a an EOS to XL adapter then into the Micro 35. Basically using the EOS to XL adapter and lens as a relay lens similar to what is used with the Mini35.

I think we are saying almost the same thing, at least a combining the two. Less light loss and less weight/length, and that's if it works. I was reading the thread but there is no mention of it worked, no screen grabs etc. 20mm is not that far off of the 24mm you used either. Do you have an M2?
