Sigma 20mm 1.8 EX will work?
 

Hello everybody,
does this lens will work on a Mini 35 with Nikon adapter?
They say "Sigma Super Wide Angle 20mm f/1.8 EX Aspherical DG DF RF Autofocus Lens for Nikon AF-D".

I'm using Nikon AIS lenses, never tried to put an autofocus one..

I think it will so lomg as you can switch from Manual to Auto on the focussing.

And the f stop is manually set.

I have a SIGMA zoom that I really like for the Nikon Mount.

I am using a Sigma 28mm autofocus lens with no problems and nothing to be done with the aperture lever.

Your lens may be a digital camera lens. I suggest you test this lens before you buy.

The aperture control lever on digital lenses seems to work the opposite to film camera lenses. They can still be made to work.

You may have to make a little wedge and put it in behind the little aperture lever on back of the lens to hold it in the open position if the aperture won't work off the ring settings manually with the lens in your hand, disconnected from the camera.

The digital lens may not even have a manual aperture ring. You can still wedge the aperture lever to hold the aperture open to as far open as you want it to be. You cannot change the aperture when the lense is mounted. I use one of these lenses and it is very inconvenient.

The Sigma 50-500mm f4-f5.6 zoom works adequately on a home made Mini35 style device but is a little tight on the corners in 16:9 videocameras. It is an autofocus lens.

On a Mini35 which uses a smaller area off the groundglass than most home-mades, I think the 50-500mm may be okay.

Please be aware, I am using a home-made device, not a real Mini35. Whatever works on a home-made should work better on a Mini35.

The AF 20mm f1.8, 24mm f1.8 and 28mm f1.8 EX-DG Macro lenses all have aperture rings, and are designed for both film & digital lenses at full frame. They all work well with the Nikon mount adapter. All three lenses are slightly prone to flare if pointed towards the sun and are slightly soft at wide open aperture. At medium apertures these lenses all perform superb - extremely sharp to the corners, and focus closer than any other lenses in this range.
