cokin filters

i picked up an slr setup from a pawnshop recently for pretty cheap for the additional lenses.. also they had some cokin filters and filter holders. These polarizers and other filters are awesome because they work on all my lenses. Is anyone using these and what other filters and brands of filters for these still lenses are made that you can recommend. I think im going to use one of the filter holders for a homemade mattebox.. seems like a cheap solution for filter use (they allow 3 filters. two square and one spinning)

What does the polarizing filter say? What is the strenght of it?

ill let you know when i get home. its pretty dark. i thought it was an ND filter when i first opened it up. i tried it out today and it worked great.. there seem to be lots of these for cheap on ebay.

To start with, a Cokin guide:
http://www.geocities.com/cokinfiltersystem/theguide.htm

I like the soft diffusion of the 694 Sunsoft. Gives a very warm image. Of course, it's not hard to get diffusion in post nowadays, but I find it good for avoiding overexposed skies for example.

I also have the 150 Fog, quite nice result if the weather condition is right. Otherwise it looks strange.

The 068 Spot Red is useless.

I got all three filters for medium format cameras as a bundle for $6.99 on eBay. Well invested money, using real filters instead of post is quite fun. I've used them professionally in a music video. We didn't use any filter holders, we simply used gaffa tape to attach them in front of the lens on the DigiBeta we used.

i have the whole set of shape filters... i dont understand those... and one that puts like a rainbow sort of ring around light sources... another one that i will probably not have a use for.. i just love the cost that these adapters have allowed me accessory wise.. cheap lenses.. cheap filters.. im finally cashing in on price drops in old technology

i was just looking at that cokin page.. i wonder if the cokin +1,+2,+3 filter might have some positive effect inside my adapter. no light loss... possibly in action between the macro and the gg??? i dont know anything about them
