I have come across links to mods of Web-cams (including changing sensors) and higher quality RAW uncompressed image, for use on telescopes. Normally I avoid this, because you have to get programming information, or decode the software in reverse engineering, which can be considerable. But, if they have done this already, this is very useful to tap into for cheap uncompressed camera recording. Their are HD web-cams now days, and some cameras use quality sensors. So, I don't know yet, but maybe there is something in this for us.
