Sony DXC 3000A -- Still usable in a digital world?

I just inherited this broadcast studio camera without power supply or viewfinder. Has anyone had any experience with this camera? Would it be worth it to buy a power supply and analog capture card to capture uncompressed video? Or would the video quality not be up to today's standards? It has a Fujinon lens; could I use it on my XL-1s with the appropriate adaptor? Any info or suggestions are welcome. Thanks!

A while back i was going to go that route also. the only thing that limits you is the uncompressed capture cards can only do 640 x 480 NTSC max. at 30fps. It is possible that the video sent uncompressed to the computer could exceed many minidv camcorders resolution.

www.winnov.com sells such uncompressed capture cards, and you can find them dirt cheap on ebay. (well, almost dirt cheap) and it has its own software and everything if you use this company.

message me if you'll consider selling the lens :)

The lens is a Fujinon Model BMD-D18.

one of the cables connecting the remote control unit has been cut off, so I wouldn't feel comfortable selling it unless you're certain that you can still use it.
