Something not quite right.

Please take a look at the clip. I have this weird flickering at the bottom of the screen that wasn't there before. Perhaps it's the edge of the GG frame coming in and out of view as it ossilates? The flicker is most apparent as you focus in very close.

Well, I loosened the thumbscrew holding the canon/nikon mount and giggled the mount/lens a bit and retightened in hopefully more in line with the camera direction and it seems to have corrected the issue. It was impossible to see if there was a problem on the EVF though so this is a bit scary as I wouldn't know if it occurs again until I capture my footage, or look via a laptop and firewire or external monitor while on set.

What camera are you using?

Jacob Ehrichs May 20th, 2006 05:39 PM

I'm using the original xl1.

Also on a related note, what's the opinion on f2.8 lenses? Too small of an aperhture?

It looks as though you just need to zoom the lens in a little more. I forget how the XL1 does it's widescreen mode (stretch or crop) If it crops then you could always shoot in that mode.

I guess I totally forgot to mention that I'm running the LetusXL. :) Whoops. It seems as if the alignment on the FD lens mount to the rest of the adapter needs a precise fit, but inorder to flip it around it has to be micromillimeter loose, otherwise it'd be press fit solid. A little playing and I was able to remove teh flickering. Surprising though that there is that little of clearance around the edges of the GG and the fact that the XL would pick it up depending on the lens, because it stays consitently in line with the rest of the adapter all the way through.
