mixing the Letus relay lens with other adapters

Hey
i was just wondering if anyone has tried using the relay lens for the XL from the letus with the other adaptors on sale.
it seems to me that using the relay with the redrock m2 would be the best of two world..no GG, almost no light loss (big issue with the letus)and no unnecesary optics ..

so..
any problems, ideas?

......no gg?

haha. he might have meant no visible grain. but im pretty sure the redrock still sucks at light loss. at least 2 stops from what ive heard. and resolution isnt great either. They are still using plastic cds or a circular form of plastic. (still plastic either way)

youre right forrest, thats what i meant, no GG noise.
I havent tried M2, but i do own teh Letus Flip and i'm not that pleased with it.

so, can it be done?any reason why not?is the relay lens specificaly callibrated for the Letus?if so, can the calibration be altered?

thanks

im assume it would be .. given that you got the measurements correct.

Forrest Schultz June 10th, 2006 12:15 PM

yes, you should be able to use the relay lens for any adapter because the relay was meant to frame a 36mm by 24mm frame, so as long as your adapter provides an image for that size, the letus relay system should be able to direct that image into your camcorder.

i remember quyen stating that he would give more info on the relay some time later in the future.. but i dont blame him for keeping it to himself and the letus for the time being. The relay is a definate edge that hes worked hard on.
