using the Letus relay with the redrock m2

Hey
i was just wondering if anyone has tried using the relay lens for the XL from the letus with the other adaptors on sale.
it seems to me that using the relay with the redrock m2 would be the best of two world..no GG, almost no light loss (big issue with the letus)and no unnecesary optics ..

so..
any problems, ideas?

What do you mean no ground glass?

Matthew Nayman June 9th, 2006 02:56 PM

I think you misunderstand, Lior...

The GG is what recieves the image and is filmed off of. The Relay lens simply focuses that image onto the CCD's of your camera. However, I have also wondered it Queyen was planning on releasing a seperate Relay lens for the M2. I would personally pay $250-$500 for a relay lens with an XL mount. Would eliminate some light loss no doubt, and lighten large rigs, like XL and HD100, greatly.

Hey guys
I meant no GG PROBLEMS..it is reportedly less visible in the M2
off course they both have GG..:)
my point and question is :
Can it be done?
is the relay calibrated specifically for its Letus counterpart?
can any adapter work with it?

Pricing is not that of an issue

I have spoken to Queyen about this, and as he put it, it's not nessicarily in his best itnerest to offer components for the M2, because it might make people not buy the Letus. I think many people would still buy letus (money, size, no rails, etc). I, for one, would certainly appreciate a relay lens!
