thanks for putting up something done with M2. Very nice movie. The only question: The scene which begins at 12sec. and ends at 16sec. You seem to use there wide angle lens. What lens? And did You compensate edge falloff in editing phase for that shot?

Matthew Nayman June 12th, 2006 02:32 PM

Unfortunatly, I had to use my Tamron/Nikon 24mm

It is not the sharpest lens on thge planet and want a better one, but it's f 2.5 and we had limited light, so what can you do?

I think edges get a bit soft, but I applied a guassian Sharpen to the whole clip to help out.

Frank Hool June 12th, 2006 02:59 PM

I don't see any vingetting as well. Did You compensate that as well?

Matthew Nayman June 12th, 2006 06:23 PM

Nope. that is the full 35mm image... the lens doesn't vignette...

Frank Hool June 12th, 2006 11:13 PM

24x36mm? That is really good to hear, because it's almost main issue for me - to get wide angle without vingetting.

Matthew Nayman June 13th, 2006 06:54 AM

Yeah, the M2 is great. Not to sound like a broken record, but my main gripe is that you need a relay lens (20X on XL2 is huge). I am planning on shooting a feature that takes place mainly in cab, so it's a bit of a problem...

But yeah, the GG in the M2 is amazing, and I think the pictue speaks for itself. Great product
