Need info on the basics of 35mm adaptors

I have been poking around this forum on and off for a couple of days. I think the footage posted in this forum from cams with 35mm adaptors are amazing!

I'd like to learn more about these devices. What makes them tick? How are they are built etc. I'm learning bits and peices from the posts. Vibrating glass, extesions, etc??? I'm very confused.

I was hoping that someone could point me to a link that explains these devices from top to bottom.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks..

Tim

You are basically using a camera lens to project an image onto a small translucent screen(ground glass or other) while your video camera looks from the other side of that screen and focuses on it to record the image. The object used for the "small screen" needs to be rotated or vibrated to keep your video camera from seeing and picking up its imperfections (like pits, dimples and other imperfections AKA "grain").

Above is a couple of links that explains what I believe is the basic idea of these adapters. The second link actually explains how to build your own for pretty cheap. Enjoy!!
