CINEDOF™ 15mm rods for DIY projects?

As we are nearing the official release of our vibrating focusing screen holders we`ve been thinking that if there`s high enough demand for 15mm heavy duty aluminium support rods then we can make those available to anyone.

Would that be fair if pair of long 16" rods would cost just $25.00
S&H to anywhere in the world would be $10.00

Rods will have brushed satin matte finish and beveled ends. Pair of 16" rods weights a bit under 0.7lbs/300g.

Unfortunately aluminium scratches a bit so bear this in mind.

Cheers,
T

Sounds really good. I can't wait to see how the unit performs under different conditions.

Toenis, you would find a market for 15mm stainless or CF in North America. It's very difficult to source here.

There was a place in USA that had stainless steel rods I remember, same place I was going to buy a mitre gear from...if I can find it I will pass it on.

I have had a heck of a time finding 24" rods in metric units made of any material. The ones I found were about $300! Any help would be appreciated.

Stainless is too heavy and CF scratches like AL.
There must be a reason why even the $2000 matteboxes come with aluminium rods.
Even Cavision`s equipment for example doesn`t scratch aluminium but most of the DIY stuff possibly will.

Marcus, we could do custom orders for 24" btw. It would cost something like $70 with shipping as you`re quite far from us.

Cheers,
T

Hi
Can you say what's the wall thickness?

And can you get a pair with 35" long?

Regards

Samuel Hinterlang March 4th, 2008 04:25 PM

I'd love some rods.

You say $70 for 24" rods?

Brent Graham April 26th, 2008 11:49 PM

I'd also like a pair of 24" rods.

How can I go about ordering?
