wich was the software to see what coems from firewire?

i'm planing to use a laptop as screen for my adapter (coause it's easy to be flipped, now there was a directx show filter software that was free and was able to show a fullscreen image of the data coming form the firewire? i don't remember the name, anybody remember the thread or the exact anme of that program? i think it came with the directx SDK or something like this... anybody knows?
