Super16 Primes

I tried searching on this, so I hope it's not redundant...
Can the Letus be adapted to use PL mount S16 prime lenses?

A PL mount could be designed for the Letus, but the Super16 primes are unlikely to be satisfactory as the image area projected onto the groundglass will be too small. The result will be a circular image in the centre third of the Letus35 image frame.

While you could hunt down and choose different macros and closer zoom settings to frame this smaller projected image, there will be no advantage gained and a lot of resolution lost as you then magnify a much smaller area of groundglass image.

At best you will end up with an image which behaves much like a 2/3" CCD image.

Thanks, I may just have to get the JVC PL mount adaptor and learn to look at things upside down :). Being closer to 2/3" isn't necessarily a bad thing.

I guess I'm not a big fan of using SLR still image lenses, not because of resolution, but because I'm worried about them breathing. They aren't tested for that from the Manufacturer.
