cheap onboard monitor
 

anyone have any info on a cheap onboard monitor i could use to flip a 35mm adapter image?

im using an hc1--which has a weird nonstandard shoe--and I would like to preserve the 16x9 aspect ratio with no distortion of the dimensions, if poss.

please help!

ps, i would be just as happy to use the magnet trick, HOWEVER, there doesn't seem to be enough room to get the magnet on the flip-out LCD. If there are any hc1/a1u owners out there who have managed to flip the image with a magnet, holler.

Today I was browing around and came across this monitor that is used for a camera mounted on the back of your car. It was probably 2.5inch lcd screen with a button to change the order of appearance, IE top right, right down, right up, upside down kind of thing. It was only 98dollars, also the good thing about it was on the bottom it had a screw mount. There is a hot shoe out there for mounting Varizoom camera's on the camera. It's a perfect fit I'm sure. I'll get the model name and everything later on for you to check out.

scratch that...i checked it again today and it doesn't have the screw thing. and it's only wireless.

my budget is under USD100 preferably, though desperation could lead to a small multiple of that i.e., USD250 or something, max.

Super is of good quality, I bought one before people started making these "kits" out of them. The sharpness isn't fantastic, but it's no better than many onboard LCDs anyway.

I assume you used it for your letus rig. How did you mount it? Any trouble flipping it?

I'm worried about mounting it, and I need to make this purchase like yesterday, for a shoot on Thursday.

I bought a hotshoe mount from varizoom. They sell it, you'll see it. Rotatable arm, etc. but if you buy that kit you get a mount with it.
