I made a bracket that will hold the VF upside down so I can use focus assist when attaching my DIY lens adapter. I added a DIY hand grip so its easier to hold when shoulder mounted.

Very cool idea Ted. I'm going to move this over to Alt Imaging with a re-direct so those guys can see it.

DOF 120?

I can't seem to find any info about this adapter.

Jad,
Its my own DIY adapter. i called it DOF 120 because it uses lenses from my old medium format mamiya 645 camera that uses 120 film. I decided to go this route because of a bigger image cast on the GG. 45mm across to be precise.

here's a pic. you can go to http://tedramasola.9k.com/photo2.html for more info.

Ted, for some reason now I can't find the great images you had demonstrating the depth of field you acheived with your adapter.
I'm really impressed... I'd love to be putting my Mamiya 7 lenses to work like this. Of course, they are are slower than equivalent 35mm lenses, but maybe the larger image also means less light loss in conversion?
You should really consider manufacturing some of your creations for the new indie HD market!

Sean,

Thanks for your interest in that adapter.
I transferred the test shots here,

I'll post some frames from an actual commercial, where we used this adapter, in a moment.

Sean,

Do you mean mamiya 67? Just curious because i'm using the ones from a 645, while i also have a lot of rb67 lenses, they are too big and their film plane is too far back which would make the adapter quite long and large.

Sean,

ok, I just found out theres a mamiya 7. yeah, that might work. smaller and shorter film plane.

Ted, It looks like the VF is still right-side up. Am I missing something here? Can you post a close up of the the inverter bracket? Thanks.

No need for an apology Ted, and thanks for posting a bigger pic. I get it now. This interests me because I am really leaning toward the HD110 to replace my DVX100A. I use a RedRock M2 for some shoots and want a VF solution to go from 35 adaptor to stock lens that is fast.
