Is this considered a new direction for 35mm adapters?

I saw the P+S is teaming up with Silicon Imaging - I am wondering if they are working on a camera with DOF 35mm solutions built into the camera?

Will this be similar to RED? I suspect that would be the only route to go for a company like P+S in order to go a step further with the Mini35. But the price is still way above what most can afford. Still for the professional.

I agree Alex. Too much for my pocket book too.

My interpretation of the reading materials was that the P+S contribution is designing and creating hardware to make the SI camera integratable into a standard production environment.

The Mini35 itself would remain an add-on component when its features were required.

P+S designed the case/form factor for the bigger SI camera,
and since it has a 2/3" chip, it could still benefit from a 35mm adaptor, at least for depth of field reasons.

Though the footage is nice and the menu system is great, I can't justify dropping that much cash on what's basically a digital 16mm camera. You'll need an adapter to get 35mm DOF.
