adapter has a spinning disc, +1, +2, +3 macro and a small achromatic lens.

what do you think about the result? maybe i should try to find a better achromaticlens? or will using one +7 macro be better than using +1, +2, +3

I've got to say, you did a pretty nice job just with those lenses-- particularly preventing sharpness fall of at the edges. When you described set up in post, I was expecting some messy stuff..... Not sure if a plus 7 will change anything that much. I had a plus 10, that got really soft around edges.

very nice...what are you using for GG and what kind of achromat are you using? pix of the unit?

my gg is grinded plastic that i took out from a cd case (thanks to Ettore Giraldi for the idea)
im using an achromatic lens that came out from an old binocular

Those are some stunning results for a such a ghetto rigged setup. I'm very very impressed.

I agree, the footage is very crisp for the 'ghetto' setup.

Only real issue that stands out is the CA which is probably from the achromat you are using.

I love the toxic acrid smell of freshly hacksawed PVC pipe in the morning.

Hurcan. If you look through your hardware supplier's stock, you may find end caps for PVC pipe which are of thin walled material. There are two styles.

One is a thick material designed to withstand operating pressure. The thin walled caps are called dust caps in Australia. The thickness of these is exactly the thickness of the lug channel in the FX1/Z1P lens hood bayonet mount. All that is needed is to file out the hole and the gaps for the lugs.

- you will see what I used and what I did. In this specimen, the cap is larger and the centre is offset because I used prisms and an offset path within a larger diameter tube.

Thanks for the info. I have been trying to find the parts you used in your adapter but i couldn't find the one that fits fx1. Maybe we have different pipe sizes in Turkey :)

i acheaved acromatic color disortion free images. However i still need to make a proper gg to avoid ghosting. as you see

Your bokeh looks pretty good, but you can see the arcing grain (shot of sky... stopped down too much?
Were you shooting wide open with that f3.5/4.5?

What do you mean by "ghosting"? I didn't see any double images.

the grain is probably becouse of the gg im using i touched it too much so i probably need to make a cleaner one.

by ghosting what i ment was the lack of sharpness and contrast :D

the lens has not got a diaphragm control on it so i think it is wide open 3.5 probably and when you zoom to 80 it becomes 4.5

just a little bit vignating which is the sideefect of using a 4.5f lens (and can easly be solved by using an condenser lens)

Your f4.5 lens is likely to be a part of your problem.

Grain will be there in all adaptors, some more than others. Sometimes grain comes from the camera itself when the video gain is switched in.

Flicker can come from marks and uneven finish on the disk. A narrow lens aperture can make it much worse. If you have no f1.8 lens, maybe go to a camera store and ask to test a lens on your device in the store. You should observe an improvement.

I have a Nikon f4 zoom lens. It causes flicker outdoors in bright sunlight on a good glass disk I have made. There is no flicker with the f1.8 lenses. One lens which is f2.8 does not flicker but has corner brightness falloff.

i have one 50mm 1.2f lens but when i have to shoot wide i have to use my old 18*80mm lens. maybe i should find a wide lens with a fixed focal lenght(maybe 20mm with a 2.8f at least)

i will try to make a better(or evener) gg so i may be able to avoid flickering.
