How Much of an Issue is Color Matching a Set of Lenses?

Still camera lenses are generally not color matched across a manufacturer's line. So Nikon 35 1.4, 50 1.4 and 85 1.4's probably each render colors differently.

I've read this difference can cause a problem when cutting video footage shot with different still camera lenses. For example, the CU, MC and MS may all have different color renditions.

Is anyone battling this problem, or is it really not much of an issue?

FWIW, Zeiss Planar T lenses are color matched, but buying a set of used Nikons would be considerably cheaper (I'm just not sure if the color matching them would be an issue).

I've run into this... but a white balance fixes it.
