I'm working on a video 'art' piece for school. I'm working with a maximum of 12 frame cuts. Is there a way to uniquely randomize them? either with code? or some mystery other than blindly dragging and dropping?

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind dragging and dropping, but I'm looking for a truely random feel and thus far I'm not getting as random as I'd like.

Number each of the cuts then put corresponding numbers in a hat and pull them out.

Ok, its low tech but its random.

I ended up just blindly reorganizing the clips.
I'm sure some wiz at MIT has some filter code written out for it but until then
this will work, ha!

Or if you're after doing something truly random and 'arty', export each clip separately and use Flash video to randomize the playback order at runtime. This would assume the video is being played back on a computer though, it obviously wouldn't work for DVD.

You would need some experience in Flash though, or know somebody else that can help.
