View Full Version : Monopod Head

I have used a simple Manfrotto monopod without a head with my VX2000 for wedding work and I am now in the market for a new monopod, and/or a head.

My only issue with my current setup is that with the camera attached directly to the monopod, I often find myself awkwardly leaning forward or backward to accomodate tilting the camera on the rigid monopod. I would like a simple, single axis joint that would allow tilting.

Any recommendations?

Not that I need it often, but if I need a similar setup to that you describe, I simply screw the pretty cheap pan/ tilt head off my cheap Velbon stills tripod and screw it straight onto the monopod.

Works a treat.

If you don't happen to have something like that hanging about, check out the Manfrotto web site for their single/ double axis stills heads and gizmos.

Also check out B&H's stills support/ heads section for hopefully a better range as well.

Hi Rick,

I made up my own articulating head a few yrs back.
