When traveling long-distances especially in the larger jets (A340, B767/777) I used to see cruise speeds well above 560mph (over-the-ground) and sometimes a short burst over 570mph. Ever since the cost jet-fuel went "sky-high" I've not seen any cruise speed higher than this one.
