Anyone had any joy making the PDZ-1 Live Logging function work?
I can successfully connect my 700 via ethernet and using the PDZ-1 software manipulate proxies, log, write back etc but when I try live logging mode, all I get is a "connection is failed" error.

From memory you have to have timecode as 'free run'
and restart the camera after you make the 'live logging' selection.

To my knowledge Live Logging will be available for the 700 with the new 1.5 release from Sony. Due out soon.

I just updated our camera to v. 1.51, but didn't have any luck connecting to the camera. The camera was in Free Run, but I didn't see any options in the menu that implied this was possible. Anybody had any luck?

I am not sure about the old SD XDCAMs live logging feature.

But with 1.5 you can use a small usb stick in the cam (dont forget to switch USB on in the energy save menu, after that activate "memory recording" in menu 50.) to record all the proxies on the fly or at any given moment via copy from disk.

Using this feature you simple take of the usb stick at any time and do your proxy editing.

No - its not the same like live logging, but Sony is thinking about something similar - eh... bigger..

I also tried after the 1.5 upgrade and no success. Pity, could have used it on set tomorrow.
