dear all,

i've read quite a bit about "shooting for the cut," which most folks seem unimpressed with. are any of you familiar with "mastering the gl-1" from sign video? i'm wondering if it's any good, and if the majority of the information it provides would be applicable to the gl-2

thanks,

I'm not impressed with a training tape on VHS! Must be ultra low budget! I bought a training video on DVD for the XL-1S. It was pretty good. Direct access to lessons is a must. I wouldn't fool with a VHS tape.

I just bought it and I'm about half way through it. It's dry, but isn't most "how to" stuff dry?

The first half is just the ins and outs of the camera. It goes through all the modes and options on the camera. Good detail is given, but it's designed for the first time user. The second half (I'm watching right now) is about filming in the field.

I've seen the Mastering the GL-1 tape from Sign Video. Not good at all, very, very basic info. In this case the manual is better.
