Today i was shooting footage and when i got back home and put it onto my computer, i noticed a small dot in the bottom upper left had corner of my footage that wasnt there before. so i thought damn a bad pixel. Just in case i checked the lens thinking maybe its just dust or something, and i noticed a small dust looking thing behind the lens of my gl1. Is that a bad pixel? it looks like a spek of dust behind the lens in between the lens and the mechanism that moves back and forth when i zoom in and out. when i zoom and the mechanism moves back the spek is still there so its not on the mechanism but on like something in the middle of the lens and the mechanism. Does anyone know what that is? could there be dust in there ? or is that what a bad pixel is? and how much would it cost to fix this. thanx a bunch.

It sounds like you have a bad pixel on your CCD block. (Forget about the speck of dust inside the lens.)

Only Canon service can repair this. Give them a call to get a cost & time estimate. It may or may not be worth the expense (to you) to get it repaired, particularly if the camera is out of warranty.
