MCE have posted a downloadable firmware update on their website - only for Windows at this stage. I couldn't find any documentation to tell me what the update does but, according to the last point in the pdf update instructions:

'You have now successfully upgraded the firmware and you can now take advantage of any new features and capabilities that have been added.'

I have emailed support to see if they can provide any details.

The site also alluded to problems with the original cable supplied and MCE offers to replace this with a shielded cable - see the note in the Support section of their website.
