I used to live in Europe so I know firsthand that PAL resolution is better than NTSC.

But I live in U.S. now. Does that mean I should get NTSC GL2 to play on U.S. tvs?

Is it better to buy PAL anyway and convert to NTSC in software?

Seems odd to me that dv cams can't do both standards, especially if you have to pay $2,000 for one.

Thanks.

It's going to be much easier for you in terms of workflow and work speed to simply stick with NTSC while you're in the U.S. Plus, the people who will be watching your video won't know what they're missing, so NTSC will easily suffice. Hope this helps,

The main problem is not being able to plug it directly to any NTSC device and see your footage.

Also don't forget that if you're going to use that footage mostly in the US, you're going to have to convert it to NTSC anyway, so the better resolution will be of almost no use.
