Hi,

Next week I want to film an indoor concert with my GL2 but I'm not sure which settings are preferable. I can't connect the camera to the soundboard (PA) so I need advice on which mike to use too.

All suggestions are very very welcome!

PS: It's a man and guitar gig and I will be sitting on the fifth row.

Thanks,

Dirk

If you can, get a directional mic in front of the audience, as close to the talent as reasonable. Video settings will depend in part on the lighting.

If this is not a paying gig and you can, buy the CD and enjoy the concert without worrying about video/audio taping.

First of all I'm not a professional in Video or sound but I do a lot of cocert video(children Choir) and here is my experience.

Its good to have MIC(Condensor MIC) infront of the audience and beside the camera.

The front MIC will catch the sound on the stage but the sound seems to be dry so I normaly put another 2 MIC beside my camera to catch the sound. By doing that it give the benefit of the acoustic and feel like live concert.

You can mix them with field mixer if you ar using 1 camera or mix them in timeline.

I would also like to here about other people idea.
