Has anyone edited footage from an HDV camera such as the Sony FX1, Z1 or a JVC HD1 or HD10 yet in Final Cut Pro 5?

If so, what did you think?

Does it work as smooth as the demo on the Apple web site?

The only flavor of HD FCP HD (4.5) has ever been able to edit is DVCProHD. FCP 5 is a true HD solution but I'm not using it yet.

Lumier HD allows you to edit HDV off-line as DV then converts it back to HDV from the original footage, or something like that. There's a Lumier HD forum here.

Sorry, long day, and I was looking at the box on my desk with the big HD on it. I met 5. Thanks.

I'm finally loading HDV from a JVC GR-HD1 into FCP5.
It was a bit touch and go at first. The tape I'm loading had both SD and HD material on it. It took awhile for me to figure out that I needed to pause the tape on HD material in order to get FCP5 to talk to the camera.
But it's capturing just fine and the video looks GREAT.
