I have a shoot for a large US Production company coming up and would like to know the normal cost in America for a cameraman with PDW700, lighting kit, tripod, batts etc for one days shoot.

Please let me know so I can charge them what the are used to.

Thanks in advance !!!

Cheers, Tim.

Should you not charge the going rate in Australia? If you go to a foreign country you normally expect to pay that countries prices, not your own countries. Your costs will be different to a camera operator in the US. If the production Co. has shopped around they will know what the local rate is.

I agree, but I want to know if my normal rate is within the range that the US company is used to paying.

Regards, Tim.

The going rate for a 10hr day in the US for a cameraman with a basic 700 kit is in the $,1200/$1,400 range.

If you are interested I have an excellent DP that I have worked for a long time that has just bought the 700 and the 24p option. His rate is in this range and I can't recommend him highly enough. He is based out of New York.
