Hey, I have a GL2, that has a piece of hair or dust right in the center of the lens. I use a UV filter but when I took it off, I find that the hair is not on the filter. I tried cleaning the flourite lens itself but it seems to be inside the covering too. What is a safe and effective way to get rid of this? It shows up clearly when shooting in sunlight.

Thanks,

Well, how do you feel about shooting only low-light scenes? <g>

Seriously, if you're certain that the hair is inside the lens itself (uncommon but not impossible) it will be impossible for you to remove it safely. You'll have to send the camera to a Canon service center. Being a new model it must still be under warranty and since this would probably constitute a "defect in workmanship" the cost to you should be nil.

Thanks Ken for the response. I actually prefer low-light scenes because I feel it it my type. But I will have to shoot in daylight also. I don't think enough video is shot at night or in low-light, that is why. I will contact Canon once I have time, hopefully all goes well.

Thanks Again,
