I have the FH1 and I am considering the HD2000A for its mic in feature (among other things), which the FH1 lacks. I looked online at the pdf manual for the HD2000, and it mentions a five step menu audio gain control for external mics. Anyone have experience with this? Is it a true manual audio input, or does it have AGC, and if it does have AGC, how intrusive is it?

I haven't had much opportunity to play with the external mic, but the one time I used it, the one thing that was very frustrating was that I couldn't find any way to adjust the audio while recording and if I'm not mistaken it was an agc input and not true manual which would partially explain the inability to adjust the audio while recording.
