Can I transfer quicktime .Mov files from Final Cut Pro to Edius 5.5?

I know Edius can import .Mov files but can it import .Mov from a Mac?

I have someone giving me a mini hard drive with their QT files and now I need to import them into Edius in order to edit.

Can this be done?

Thanks
Jim

Yes, as long as the latest QT codec is installed on your PC.

Not sure about Edius 5 and up, but earlier versions do not recognise clips with split track (dual mono) multi channel audio (they come in as video + one single mono track) ... but if you make the audio pairs stereo (and pan for separation) then you'll be good to go. As far as I know this is not anything Edius specific, this is/was a generic Quicktime flaw eg even QT Player on Mac don't properly recognise the split tracks.

Thought it worth a mention.
