Every once in a while when I start up my computer with the key left in the usb port I get a window stating there is an unautorized windows access. Never has happened prior to edius and using the key.

Should I be pulling the key out at every shut down???

I am using a 64 bit vista I7 Dell workstation

Any ideas?.

thank you,

Hi Dale. I always leave the Edius dongle plugged in, and have never had this problem with Windows XP Pro or Windows 7 64 bit.

sounds like you have windows defender enabled, stop it and set startup type to disabled

most useless invention ever by Microsoft

install the latest dongle driver from the aladdin website HASP Drivers - USB Device Driver Downloads (http://www.aladdin.com/support/hasp/enduser.aspx)

also, some more tips here

Good advice from Anton. You should leave the dongle in unless you need to take it out to go to a different machine.
