I tried to do the edit for this project on Premiere primarily for magic bullet looks and colorista.
I figured since Looks with its canned effects can give me a faster finish as well as the keying and masking tools of colorista allows me to fine tune the image.
However, I realized that they don't give me real time results unless you use only the realtime filters of premiere.
So I decided to do the edit, grade and supers back in Edius, and I came to realize that Edius is really underated in its features, firstly its still realtime even with stacks of effects on clips, and also, by using the tools it provides, the looks in magic bullet can be achieved within edius.
for instance;
Regions --this can act like Power masks and you can relight a scene
Chrominance --use this with 'combine filters' and you have keying like those in colorista
White balance --- NOW THIS should be renamed 3 way color correction!
Old movie filter -- for those subtle vignettes
Do check out the commercial;
