Hey Folks, I have been asked to encode a music video I recently shot for broadcast. I am going through some of the requirements and I have come across this one

"HD SPECIFIC: Timecode: LTC data is read and stored in the MPEG user data as per SMPTE-328m. Closed
Caption: data conforming to EIA-708B / SMPTE-334M is read from the VANC of the uncompressed video
and stored in the MPEG user data (SMPTE-328m). "

Does anyone have an idea on how I do that in FCP 7 ?

Thanks
Jason

The more accurate question is can/how would you do this in Compressor.
I'm reasonably sure that the timecode should go through to the mpeg stream with compressor - it does for mpegs for DVD's so I wouldn't imagine it would be any different in a program stream.

Compressor 3.5 is listed as being able to handle closed captioning - but it's not been something I've ever dealt with.

Thanks a lot Craig I will try a few different versions and see how things work out.
